Job Responsibilities:

  • Advising on a wide range of legal matters, including regulatory, operational, and issues to support the firm’s growth and international business strategy.
  • Researching and analyzing MAS, SFC, FinCEN, OCC comments and guidance.
  • Managing the regulatory coverage for the firm’s global trading activities, including spot trading, margin trading, and fixed-income products, liaising with regulators, exchanges, and trading counterparties in multiple regions.
  • Supporting the team by advising on customer deals, including drafting templates and customized agreements on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Working closely with the team in customer on-boarding, providing guidance on digital payment token services, cryptos and blockchain law and regulations.
  • Researching and working with foreign and domestic jurisdictions.
  • Liaising with external legal counsel to obtain guidance and reach a resolution on highly specialized legal matters.
  • Propose solutions and active involvement in the formulation of business operation process and continual suggestions for improvements to relevant processes.

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or J.D. degree.
  • Qualified lawyer.
  • 1-3 years PQE with focus on general corporate or capital market practice.
  • Experience working with reputable law firms and/or financial institutions preferred.
  • Prior background in digital payment token services, cryptos and blockchain a plus.
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
  • Sound judgement and ability to analyze situations and information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin.
  • Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to build relationships with all stakeholders.
