Job Responsibilities:
- Advising on a wide range of legal matters, including regulatory, operational, and issues to support the firm’s growth and international business strategy.
- Researching and analyzing MAS, SFC, FinCEN, OCC comments and guidance.
- Managing the regulatory coverage for the firm’s global trading activities, including spot trading, margin trading, and fixed-income products, liaising with regulators, exchanges, and trading counterparties in multiple regions.
- Supporting the team by advising on customer deals, including drafting templates and customized agreements on an ad-hoc basis.
- Working closely with the team in customer on-boarding, providing guidance on digital payment token services, cryptos and blockchain law and regulations.
- Researching and working with foreign and domestic jurisdictions.
- Liaising with external legal counsel to obtain guidance and reach a resolution on highly specialized legal matters.
- Propose solutions and active involvement in the formulation of business operation process and continual suggestions for improvements to relevant processes.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or J.D. degree.
- Common-law jurisdictions qualified lawyers (e.g. HK, SG, UK, US) with working experiences of 2-4 years, i.e. a relatively junior lawyer, such as a newly-qualified lawyer in HK who have just finished the 2-year training contract in a law firm.
- Worked in a reputable law firm with experiences in corporate law (e.g. M&A), capital markets, fund formation/investment (any one or combination of these is fine).
- Prior background in digital payment token services, cryptos and blockchain a plus.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
- Sound judgement and ability to analyze situations and information.
- Fluent in Eng and Mandarin preferably (or Cantonese).
- Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to build relationships with all stakeholders.
- Good communication skills, motivated, interested in joining web3/start-up.
