Common lets you build community on your own terms. We create open spaces for coordination, where decisions are made transparently and any member can participate in improving their organization.

Our initial product is widely used by the crypto community—over 2000 web3 projects and DAOs collectively worth over $50 billion use Common as a hub to collaborate and scale their community. Projects include 1inch, Stargate Finance, Stargaze, Element Finance, and many, many more. We support free and decentralized forms of expression and governance via chat messages, discussion threads, and formal votes. We hope our tools facilitate the community creation of culture, technology, and lasting public works. We’re always looking for like-minded people to join us.

We’ve closed our Series A funding, with total funding over $20m, and are gearing up for the next stage of growth for our company, which will see many more features—from a Discord bot to chat reactions—launch on Common.

We are looking for a fully remote Technical Project Manager (TPM) with a broad range of skills, from collaborating with Leads and team members of Growth, Product, Design, and Engineering, to building out detailed product feature roadmaps, to working with core developers to find and communicate solutions. This role reports to the Head of Business Operations and Strategy and will be pivotal in guiding our Product Development lifecycle, building out a structure for cross-functional visibility and enabling us to plan our work more accurately and effectively. In this position, you will:

  • Develop a Comprehensive Project Plan: Create and manage detailed project plans that encompass efforts from growth, product, design, and engineering teams to ensure timely feature development and release.
  • Establish Cross-Functional Scheduling and Visibility: Implement a robust mechanism for regular status collection, synthesis, and presentation, including identifying project states, imminent blockers, schedule shifts, and risks. This will help set realistic and achievable goals and timelines.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Daily Standups: Facilitate daily standups and ensure that participants are updating their statuses and tasks on a daily basis to maintain alignment and progress.
  • Build a Dashboard for the CEO: Develop a comprehensive dashboard to provide the CEO with visibility into all ongoing projects and associated risks at the right level of detail.
  • Enhance Communication and Coordination: Act as the central liaison amongst varied personalities within the company, ensuring seamless information flow and reducing back-and-forth delays during the review and development phases.
  • Improve Product Development Processes: Work with leadership to help define the most valuable objectives for the product and map out ideas into concrete roadmaps. Support the Product function in creating comprehensive Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), assess feasibility, and manage design work efficiently.
  • Incorporate Research into Product Briefs: Ensure that research, including Voice of the Customer, is done and incorporated into the product brief process. Support the process of defining and researching features to present to the CEO and Leads for decision-making on what should go in the roadmap.
  • Implement Metric-Driven Performance: Enable cross-functional metric data gathering, reporting, and analysis to measure performance and continuously improve against set metric values of the product feature delivery lifecycle.
  • Work with Growth and Product Marketing Teams: Collaborate closely with the growth team and product marketing to ensure that feature releases and launches are on time and meet customer expectations as defined in the product brief.
  • Proactively Manage Risks: Provide clear insights on potential challenges to the CEO and Product Managers, enabling proactive management across schedules, efforts, and risks.

About You

  • Proven track record with complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Background in engineering with an ability to understand technical architecture and tradeoffs when making engineering decisions.
  • Ability to break complex, high-level ideas into concrete steps.
  • Some programming ability is a plus.
  • Robust background in managing technical projects, preferably with tech startups during their Seed, Series A, and Series B phases.
  • Experience working closely with influential product leaders, product teams, and product design units.
  • Knack for working with diverse personalities, bridging functional gaps, and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Proactive approach, anticipating challenges, and arming leadership with the right information for strategic decision-making.
  • Very experienced with project management methodologies and principles.
  • Experience in Web3 and Blockchain: Proven experience in the Web3 space, including working with blockchain developers and product managers, and a deep understanding of blockchain technology and its applications.
