Crusoe Energy is on a mission to unlock value in stranded energy resources through the power of computation.

Take a look at what we do! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rlt8k71Quqw

We aim to align the long term interests of the climate with the future of global computing infrastructure. As data centers consume an exponentially growing power footprint to deliver technology to all connected devices, we are inspired by making sure that the energy meeting that demand is sourced in an environmentally responsible fashion. Crusoe co-locates mobile data centers with stranded energy resources, like flare gas and underloaded renewables, to deliver low-cost, carbon-negative distributed computing solutions. Crusoe Cloud is a managed cloud services platform powered by stranded energy that enables climate-friendly innovation in computationally intensive fields including artificial intelligence, graphics rendering and computational biology.

About This Role:

We are looking for Senior Staff / Principal Software engineers to help design and scale our carbon-reducing cloud computing platform. With Crusoe Cloud’s upcoming public launch, you will help us advance our storage infrastructure, virtualizing cutting edge computing hardware, and/or building out best in class networking capabilities.

As a Senior Staff / Principal engineer, you will be instrumental in guiding the engineering team's overall architectural strategy, significantly influencing both our technological direction and financial outcomes. Your role involves cultivating our engineering ethos, establishing scalable practices, and spearheading the development of Crusoe Cloud.

Your responsibilities will also include assessing various tools and frameworks for their suitability in our engineering landscape, focusing on aspects such as reliability, scalability, cost-effectiveness, ease of integration, and impact on talent acquisition. As a mentor, you will actively engage with engineers at different levels, providing guidance for their individual and team development. • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 10-12+ years relevant work experience

  • 5+ years of being in a mentorship, IC leadership or player / coach role

  • Computer Science fundamentals in data structures and algorithm design

  • Proven experience in building and maintaining scalable and highly available fault-tolerant distributed systems and application architectures

  • Solid understanding of infrastructure design, including the operational trade-offs of various designs

  • Familiarity with modern CI/CD practices and build systems, such as GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI, GitHub Actions

  • Familiarity with modern infrastructure tools, such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Cloud Formation, Terraform

  • Experience in concurrency, multi-threading and synchronization
