Senior Software Engineer/Protocol – dYdX Trading (New York, NY):

Design and implement core components for the dYdX Version 4 decentralized trading platform, including the assets, epoch, transfer, accounts, reward vesting and funding modules using the Cosmos SDK blockchain framework and Golang programming language. Use Datadog to analyze and set up alerts for the performance of these modules.

Additional duties include: maintain Testnet stability by implementing fixes of critical production issues and being actively on-call for network alerts; design and implement the decentralized startup process of dYdX Version 4 Testnets involving 60+ validator organizations across the world; research IBC (open-source Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol) to exchange information between blockchains, and design/implement the cross-chain integration between dYdX Version 4 Blockchain and other networks in the Cosmos ecosystem, using the Golang programming language; research academic papers on consensus algorithms and make updates to dYdX-maintained fork of CometBFT (open-source consensus engine) to improve reliability of the dYdX Version 4 blockchain; mentor and train junior software engineers on blockchain technologies and dYdX specific blockchain architectures; and ensure engineering best practices within the teams through guidance on code reviews, testing, efficiency, and other engineering excellence improvements.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and 5 years of software development experience, including at least 2 years of experience with Cosmos SDK framework, CometBFT (Byzantine Fault Tolerant consensus engine), IBC (Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol), Datadog (monitoring and analytics tool), and the Golang and TypeScript programming languages. The pay range for this role in New York City is $130,000 to $275,000
