The Cboe Regulatory Division (the “Division”) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Regulatory Planning and Analysis team as a Technical Writer. Responsibilities include writing and editing key surveillance technical and functional documentation and analyzing existing technical specifications for relevant details.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop key technical and functional documents associated with regulatory projects through communications with stakeholder and development teams

  • Analyze existing technical specifications to incorporate relevant details in surveillance project specifications and identify potential improvements

  • Maintain consistent and accurate document format and design

  • Adhere to Cboe’s documentation standards

  • Assist in technical writing workflow management to ensure appropriate and timely reviews and approvals

  • Participate in other Division documentation, as needed

  • Build and maintain a thorough understanding of the Exchanges’ trading and regulatory environments, with a specific focus on the Exchanges’ surveillance and technology platforms

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field required (e.g., Business, Technology, English, Writing)

  • 2 years technical writing work experience

  • Proven experience writing technical documentation including requirements or specifications

  • Experience with MS Office, SharePoint required

Preferred

  • 5+ years of work experience in a related role preferred

  • Experience with Jira and Confluence preferred

  • Familiarity with SQL, Python or other coding languages is a plus

Ability to:

  • Learn Cboe’s systems, processes, and methodologies; work independently or as part of a team, recognize and take appropriate action to address problems or opportunities.

  • Interact professionally with internal and external contacts; use tact and diplomacy; maintain confidentiality; appropriately handle and communicate controversial or sensitive information.

  • Organize and prioritize tasks and work assignments; complete multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy and quality; adjust to changes in priorities and situations; complete work under pressure; meet deadlines.
