Candidates should be versatile, eager and able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive financial and technical environment. Our interns will have the flexibility of working 2 days remotely, and 3 days in office per week at one of our state-of-the-art offices in Chicago, Kansas City, and New York City. To be eligible for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in a university or college program and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the internship year.

The Cloud Engineering team is hiring for aa Cloud Engineering Intern, Co-op

The Cloud Engineering team is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure and services to support an organization’s applications and data. They ensure the systems are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance, while leveraging cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. The team collaborates with developers, IT, and security teams to streamline deployments, automate workflows, and maintain a reliable cloud environment.

Your responsibilities and learning objectives will be: Cloud Engineering Intern role will focus on FinOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipeline development standardization. The candidate will assist in managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure costs, ensuring efficient resource utilization, supporting financial operations related to cloud services, and developing IaC modules and pipelines as we standardize across the organization. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cloud engineering, financial operations, and IaC within a dynamic and innovative environment. For example:

  • Development of modules to transition resources and state management from one tool to another
  • Support the creation and maintenance of financial reports related to cloud services.
  • Help identify and resolve cost-related issues and inefficiencies in cloud infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the documentation of cloud cost management processes and procedures.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in cloud engineering and FinOps.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines for cloud infrastructure deployment and management.
  • Development of IAM roles to restrict access to only relevant business unit data

The ideal candidate has:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Information System, Engineering, or related field and not scheduled to graduate before Dec 2025.
  • Must be able to commit to 20 to 40 hours a week during the co-op program.
  • Familiarity with Cloud Infrastructure platforms
