Job Summary

The Deputy CEO is responsible for assisting the CEO and leading the overall strategic direction, management, and performance of the virtual asset trading platform (VATP). As the Deputy CEO, you are accountable for driving growth, profitability, and innovation within the VATP’s trading and tokens offerings, and to expand the business scope of the VATP within the regulatory remit of the SFC and other Hong Kong regulators (as applicable).

The Deputy CEO provides executive leadership to the senior management team, sets key objectives and performance targets, and ensures the VATP remains competitive in the rapidly evolving crypto industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the VATP’s strategic vision, business plan, and growth initiatives across all business lines and new business initiatives;
  • Oversee all aspects of the VATP’s business operations;
  • Manage the VATP’s financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation;
  • Act as the Responsible Officer of the VATP;
  • Build and lead a high-performing executive team to drive operational excellence;
  • Serve as the deputy spokesperson and represent the VATP with investors, regulators, and industry partners;
  • Ensure the VATP’s business and operations maintains compliance with all relevant laws, rules and regulations;
  • Foster a strong corporate culture and champion the VATP’s mission, values, and brand.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of senior leadership experience in the financial services industry, with at least 5 years within the crypto industry;
  • Prior experience as a Responsible Officer registered with the SFC, or having the right qualifications (i.e. HKSI LE Papers 1, 2, 7 & 8 and relevant academic/professional qualifications) to be appointed as a Responsible Officer;
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth, profitability, and market share across multiple business lines;
  • Demonstrated expertise in the crypto space, including blockchain, different tokens and product types, and custody operations;
  • Solid understanding of VATP operations, and strong technical expertise in crypto trading and custody services;
  • Experience leading a financial services firm; crypto firm/VATP preferred;
  • Familiarity with emerging crypto technologies and digital transformation initiatives;
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills;
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field, advanced degree preferred.
