ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently looking for a Regulatory Compliance Officer/Manager to join our Hong Kong team and support the virtual asset trading platform (VATP) licensing and regulatory initiative under the SFC’s VATP regulatory regime. In this dynamic role, you will have the opportunity to gain deep experience in the VATP via various licensing and regulatory initiatives, as well as dealing first-hand with the regulators’ requests.

The Regulatory Compliance Officer/Manager will assist the Head of Compliance of Hong Kong in all licensing and regulatory matters, and will also assist in enhancing the overall compliance governance and monitoring framework, including but not limited to: (i) reviewing of policies and procedures and mapping them against applicable rules and regulations; (ii) remediating identified issues and liaising with stakeholders and subject matter expertise; and (iii) identifying regulatory obligations and implementing them as part of the internal control process.

This is an excellent opportunity for those who are interested in bringing their professional compliance experience over to the Web3 industry. The role will be based in our Hong Kong office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the VATP regulatory and licensing work in Hong Kong;
  • Work with internal stakeholders and external advisors on all licensing-related matters;
  • Deal with the SFC’s enquiries and inspection;
  • Assist with the continued development of the compliance governance and internal control framework in Hong Kong;
  • Assist with conducting periodic testing on key compliance processes, and to monitor adherence to local regulatory obligations;
  • Perform quality check to ensure the compliance of regulatory requirements;
  • Assist with reviewing, improving and executing the standard procedures, process workflow and systems;
  • Performed ad-hoc tasks and support other Hong Kong-licensed entities as required.

Qualifications

  • Degree holder in Law, Accountancy, Business Administration, Economics, Finance or equivalent disciplines;
  • 3 to 6 years of demonstrated experience in a compliance role in SFC-licensed corporations, financial institutions, fintech firms or consultancies;
  • Well-versed with SFC rules and regulations;
  • Good understanding of the general regulatory landscape in Hong Kong, particularly with regard to crypto/virtual assets;
  • Prior experience in crypto/virtual assets and experience in a VATP is a strong plus;
  • Good analysing skills, able to comprehend complex rules and articulate the key requirements;
  • Able to meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards and ensuring effective time management;
  • Meticulous attention to details;
  • Keen interest in Web3 industry;
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
