A balanced voting power distribution and effective delegation are critical to the success of Optimism governance. As Optimism scales, delegations must reflect the skills and incentives required to make good governance decisions. The Delegation Program Manager will lead cross-functional initiatives to increase delegation across primary stakeholders using an experimental approach and a variety of crypto native methods.

  • Design and ship experiments to assess different methods of distributing voting power and the efficacy of different initiatives to drive delegation. Distribution experiments may involve methods such as airdrops, marketing campaigns, partnerships, governance programs, etc. Delegation experiments may test product features such as annual resets, incentivized re-delegation, alternative delegation UI/UXs, innovative delegation smart contracts, etc.

  • Direct cross functional initiatives to ensure all work is aligned with overall voting power goals. This may require analyses of the anticipated impact of unlocks on voting power, identification of key milestones required to unlock new functionalities for the OP token while protecting the governance system, etc.

  • Define measures or metrics to evaluate the distribution of voting power and the efficacy of delegation, and assess the impact different experiments have on these measures.
